Bike Safety

Safety is a very important factor when you’re biking. There are more cars, bikes, and more people on the roads,
so safety should always be on your mind. Increase your safety on your next ride by following these simple tips.

WEAR A HELMET

Always wear a helmet when riding. Get one that fits snug on your head.

HEAD AND TAILLIGHTS

Get lights for the front and back of your bike so people can see you.

REFLECTORS

Reflectors aren’t an alternative to lights but should be used in addition to them. The ones you can put in the spokes of your wheels are especially great as they’re visible to people who are seeing you from the side. They may not be able to see your lights, but as you pass through intersections, they’ll see your reflectors.

WEAR LIGHT OR BRIGHT CLOTHING

You should wear highly visible or reflective colors especially when riding at low light, dusk or dark. If you’re wearing a jacket, it should be highly visible too.

USE A BELL

Getting yourself a bell gives you a method of rise unobtrusively above the noise in people’s ears, making them aware that you’re passing.

BRAKE SOONER

You can travel faster on an e-bike. This means you need to brake sooner to safely slow yourself down. And when there’s water on the road you’ll  need to start braking even sooner because water provides poor traction and increases your stopping distance.

KNOW THE LAWS OF THE ROAD

Protect yourself and others around you by sticking to the rules of the road.
